Summer is ending....

As summer is slowly winding down, we take time to reflect on all the ups and downs of 2022. Overall we are thankful for where we find ourselves, and look forward to finishing up third cutting, and grazing as long as the land will let us. 

2023 we will see more gorgeous calves. We had a 88% AI success rate this year and are very excited. We have a combo of Angus, Belted Galloway, and British Whites to look forward to. 

We have hopes to do more with grazing of both cover crops as well as annuals next year, and we will continue to learn the best practices we can harbor to ensure our soil health is a top priority. With the drought earlier in the year we learned that we are not as resilient as we would like to be, and our goal is to improve that going forward. 

Honey harvest will be coming up, followed by maple syrup, calving, hay and the cycle flows on.
